My Writing Process

I started this blog with simple intention: just write whatever comes to mind. Sometimes this can just be simple thoughts like how my day is going, to something I've worked on that I want to share. For me, processing and then communicating thoughts and ideas doesn't come easy and takes a lot of going back and forth to really explain. A lot of my writing process comes down to 3 steps:

Brainstorming

Generally, I'll take the most time on this part, taking anywhere from a few hours to a few days. It mainly involves research (if needed), jotting down notes, and getting together a rough structure of how I want the piece to flow. This step will most often decide if the piece is worth writing, deciding whether to scrap the idea or to continue with what I have.

Rough Draft

For me, there's no right or wrong way to write something at first, this step is where I will mainly just put thoughts down onto the page. I'll also tend to go back and forth between words trying to set the tone and make sure what I'm writing has the right grammar. A big part of this ensuring that what I write is in the right tense and also that I'm not repeating words too often, otherwise you feel like you're reading the same thing.

Editing/Proof Read

This step I like to do once I'm confident I have written everything I've wanted to say, but this doesn't neccessarily mean I can't go back and write more if I feel like it's missing something or a point hasn't been covered well enough. I generally don't make spelling mistakes, but if I do I'll make sure to spot them at this step and correct them if needed.

Notes

This post took a bit to write as I became a bit more busy, but wanted to post something that I've wanted to post as something different and hopefully something that can help other people!

It was amazing to see my second post reasonate with so many of you that I stayed on trending for 3 days so thank you!
